This week marks the 100th anniversary of the sinking of the Titanic. One of the lesser known, untold stories of this fateful voyage is that of the canine passengers. It is reported that there were one dozen pet dogs aboard the ship, of which, astonishingly enough, 3 actually survived.
In this photo are 3 that did not survive, including the Great Dane, who’s owner, Anne Elizabeth Isham, was a Chicagoan: http://genealogytrails.com/ill/cook/titanic.html.
One of only 4 first-class female passengers to not survive, it is told that Isham removed herself from her lifeboat when she was told that her dog could not come aboard. Her body was later seen floating in the Atlantic, clutching to the the remains of the dog…

Cool.

“The current Doctor Who series has gone back to the show’s earliest habits in picking people from nowadays as companions, in order to ask the audience the question “what would you do if a man turned up in your life claiming he has a magic box which is bigger on the inside?” But for a while, during the Second Doctor’s time, he travelled with two people who were not only not from the contemporary era, but hailed from key moments in Britain’s past. Jamie, the Jacobean highlander, and Victoria Waterfield, the Victorian inventor’s daughter (played by Deborah Watling).”

Link through for the article. I think a non-contemporary companion would be uh-mazing. Maybe something from the Regency era perhaps?

To look at this photo, you’d think you were peering into some type of rustic architectural masterpiece. Well, you wouldn’t be far off as this particular subject is used for masterpieces. Read on to see what a violin, cello, flute, and pipe organ look like when shot from the inside.

Did I mention that I make custom dog costumes? And that I have a website dedicated to my parents animals? Yeah. Cause I do. So, theres that.
